A file would not import

What to check when an export will not read, or a trade finds no plan.

The importer refuses rather than guesses, so when something does not come in it says why. These are the reasons it gives.

It could not find the columns

A file needs a time, a symbol, a side, a quantity and a price. The names do not matter, but all five have to be there. An export of orders rather than fills often has no price on it.

It found no completed trades

Fills only pair into a trade once the position returns to flat. A file that ends while you are still in the position has nothing complete in it yet, so export again after the exit.

A trade found no plan

  • There is no plan for that instrument, or the plan is the other way round.
  • The plan was written after the fill, or more than 36 hours before it.
  • The plan has already been reviewed, and the importer never overwrites a review.

Anything unmatched is listed with its reason and left alone. You can review those trades by hand, and importing the same file twice is safe: the second run finds nothing left to do.

Still stuck? Email support@tradelunar.io with the first two lines of the file, including its header row. Take the account number off first; we do not need it.
