Terms of service

The full agreement covering the app, its one time purchase, connections, backtesting, affiliates and evaluation accounts.

Last updated 22 August 2026

1. Who this is between

These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of TradeLunar: its founder, trading as TradeLunar, based in the United Kingdom. When the business incorporates, the company name and number will be added here and you will be told by email; the agreement then continues with that company on the same terms. “We”, “us” and “TradeLunar” mean that operator. “The app” means the TradeLunar software at tradelunar.io: the journal, the playbook, the dashboard and calendar, platform connections, fill import, backtesting, and the affiliate dashboard. The prop firm, when it opens, is a separate product described in section 12.

2. Accepting these terms

Creating an account requires ticking a box agreeing to these terms, the privacy policy and the risk disclosure, and the server refuses to create an account without it. All three documents together are the agreement. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. If we change these terms in a way that matters, we email the address on your account before the change takes effect; continuing to use the service after that date is acceptance of the change. Changes never apply backwards.

3. What TradeLunar is, and is not

TradeLunar is record keeping and analysis software for traders. It stores what you tell it and what your connected platforms report, and computes statistics from that record.

  • TradeLunar is not a broker, a dealer, an exchange, an investment firm or a fund. It does not hold client money for trading, it does not execute orders, and no code path to an order endpoint exists anywhere in the product.
  • TradeLunar is not authorised or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority or any other financial regulator. It is software. Nothing in it is a regulated financial service, and nothing in it is financial, investment, tax or legal advice.
  • TradeLunar does not sell, resell or redistribute market data, and does not sell your data to anyone.

4. Your account

  • You must be 18 or older, able to enter a contract, and not resident in a jurisdiction we cannot lawfully serve.
  • One person per account. Do not share, sell or transfer it. You are responsible for everything done under your login, so keep your password to yourself and tell us at support@tradelunar.io if you believe someone else has it.
  • Your TradeLunar password must be at least 10 characters and is stored only as a hash. Password resets happen by a link emailed to the address on your account, which works once and expires in an hour.
  • The email address on your account is how we reach you for everything in these terms, so keep it current.

5. What you are buying

The app is a single payment of $49, not a subscription. There is no renewal, nothing to cancel, and no tier above it. Everything the app does today is included on that payment: the journal, the playbook, the dashboard, the calendar and daily notes, chart screenshots, platform connections, CSV fill import, backtesting on your own trades, CSV export, and the affiliate dashboard. Features we add to the app later are included too, along with early access to new and beta features as they land.

  • We are not obliged to keep any specific feature forever, but we will not move a feature you already have behind a further charge.
  • The prop firm is a separate product with its own prices and its own rulebook, and is not part of this purchase. Buying the app never buys evaluation accounts, funded accounts or payouts.
  • Some features depend on things you hold in your own name and pay for yourself: a platform’s API access for a connection, or a market data account for bar-based backtesting. Those costs are yours and are described where they apply.
  • We sometimes give a limited number of accounts away against a public code. A giveaway account is the same access on the same terms, permanently, and it covers the app only in exactly the way a paid one does. One per person and one per connection, while the run lasts. Nothing was paid, so nothing is refundable, and we can close a run at any point or withdraw an account obtained by claiming a run repeatedly through separate sign-ups. Feedback is welcome and is never a condition of keeping the account.

6. Payment, taxes and refunds

  • Payment is taken once, in US dollars, by Stripe. Card details never touch our servers. Your account is marked paid when Stripe confirms settlement to us server to server, not when a browser page says so.
  • A referral code entered at checkout gives 15% off, making the payment $41.65. A refund refunds the amount you actually paid.
  • Prices may change for future buyers. A change never affects a purchase already made.
  • The price is what you pay. We do not add sales tax or VAT at the checkout, and none is itemised there. You are responsible for any tax your own jurisdiction levies on you.
  • Refunds: within 30 days of purchase, for any reason, by writing to support@tradelunar.io from the address on your account. We refund to the original payment method. After a refund your access to paid features ends.
  • If you dispute a charge with your card issuer, talk to us first; a chargeback on a purchase we would have refunded anyway just costs everyone fees. We may suspend an account with an open chargeback until it resolves.

7. Early access and beta features

Features labelled beta or early access are included in your purchase, and are by nature unfinished: they may change, break, or be withdrawn without the notice period that applies to settled features. Data you put into a beta feature is treated with the same care as everything else, and if a beta feature is withdrawn we tell you and, where the data is exportable, keep the export available.

8. Platform connections

The app can connect to Topstep (through the TopstepX API), tastytrade, TradeStation and cTrader, and may add more platforms over time. Connections work like this, and these mechanics are part of the agreement:

  • Every connection uses a credential you create at your own platform, in your own name, under that platform’s terms: an API key at Topstep, an OAuth grant at tastytrade, an API key pair at TradeStation, an Open API application at cTrader. Anything the platform charges for that access, such as Topstep’s API subscription, is between you and them.
  • Our connection code reads accounts, fills and balances, and where a platform requires it, refreshes its own access tokens. That is the complete list. It cannot place, change or cancel an order, and no code path to an order endpoint exists in the product these terms describe. If we ever build one, it will be a separate capability you opt into explicitly, on its own terms, and never something the connection you made for reading quietly acquires.
  • Stored credentials are encrypted at rest with AES-256-GCM, are decrypted only inside the sync operation, are never returned by any route or shown in the app beyond their last four characters, and are deleted immediately when you disconnect the account or delete your TradeLunar account.
  • Some platforms do not scope their credential read-only. Topstep’s API key is one: the same key could place orders if other software used it that way. The connect screen tells you this before you paste the key. We only ever make the read calls above, but storing a credential with wider power than we use is your choice to make, and you can revoke the key at the platform at any time.
  • Syncing runs when you open the app and when you press Sync now. Synced fills are the platform’s own record and are stored as received; the app never edits them and never invents figures the platform did not report.
  • You are responsible for staying inside your platform’s and your prop firm’s own rules, including their rules about API use. We are not responsible for a platform changing, breaking, rate limiting or discontinuing its API, and a connection may stop working for reasons outside our control. CSV import and manual entry always remain available.

9. Fills, imports and your record

  • CSV import reads a fill file your platform exports, shows you every proposed match before saving anything, and never overwrites a trade you have already reviewed.
  • Trades, skips, notes and the playbook are your record and stay editable. One deliberate exception: a reviewed trade cannot be deleted, because a history you can quietly thin out is worthless to you. An open, unreviewed trade can be deleted.
  • The statistics the app computes are only as good as the record they compute from. Prices you type, rules you tick and files you import are your responsibility to get right.
  • Chart screenshots are limited to four per trade and 400KB each after compression, and must be images you have the right to upload.

10. Market data and backtesting

  • Backtesting on your own trades runs entirely on your journal and needs no market data. Trades it cannot resolve are counted as undetermined and excluded from averages, never guessed.
  • Bar-based backtesting, when it ships, runs on a market data account you hold in your own name with a third party provider (currently Databento). You contract with them directly, you pay them directly, and their terms govern what you may do with the data. Your data key is stored encrypted with the same envelope as platform credentials and used only to fetch the data your own studies request.
  • TradeLunar does not resell, redistribute or mark up exchange data, and you may not use the app to redistribute it either.
  • No backtest output is a prediction. See the risk disclosure, which is part of this agreement.

11. The affiliate programme

  • The affiliate dashboard in the app gives you a referral code and link. A buyer who uses it gets 15% off the $49; you earn $5 when their purchase settles.
  • Rewards clear 14 days after the purchase settles. A purchase refunded or charged back before its reward is paid takes the reward with it. A reward already paid out when a later refund happens is not clawed back.
  • Payouts run through Stripe to an account you connect through Stripe’s onboarding, from a minimum balance of $25. Stripe’s own identity checks apply, and Stripe’s terms govern the transfer leg.
  • Referring yourself, misrepresenting the product, spamming your code, bidding on our name in ads, or generating referrals by fraud voids the rewards involved and can close the affiliate account.
  • You are an independent participant, not our employee, agent or partner, and you may not suggest otherwise. Tax on your rewards is your responsibility.
  • We may change the programme’s rates or close it for the future at any time; rewards already earned under the old rates are honoured.

12. The prop firm

TradeLunar intends to open a prop firm: evaluation and funded accounts as a separate paid product with its own prices and its own rulebook. It is not open yet, no evaluation can currently be bought, and nothing in your $49 purchase relates to it. When it opens, its rulebook forms part of these terms for those purchases. Three things are stated here in advance because they will not change:

  • Evaluation and funded accounts are simulated. You trade a simulated account against real market data; no order placed on one reaches a live exchange. Payouts are paid by us, from our own funds, against the performance recorded on that simulated account.
  • Passing an evaluation guarantees nothing beyond what the rulebook states. Live capital is a separate, later stage; selection for it is at our discretion, deliberately narrow, and not owed to you by passing.
  • Evaluation fees, refund eligibility, breach handling, consistency rules and payout processing will be set out in the rulebook, which publishes before accounts open. Where this document and a published rulebook conflict about an evaluation, the rulebook governs that purchase.

13. Your content and your ownership

  • You keep ownership of everything you put into the app: trades, notes, the playbook, screenshots, all of it. You grant us only the permission needed to store it, process it, compute your statistics from it, and show it back to you. That permission ends when you delete the data or the account.
  • Export is never gated: your trades, skips and notes download as CSV from the app at any time.
  • We may remove specific content that is unlawful or that we are legally required to remove, and will tell you if we do unless the law forbids it.

14. Our intellectual property

The app’s software, design, text and branding are ours. Your account, whether bought or given, carries a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app; it is not a sale of the software. Do not copy, resell, rent or create derivative products from it. Feedback you send us can be used to improve the product without obligation to you.

15. Third party platforms and trademarks

Topstep, TopstepX, ProjectX, tastytrade, TradeStation, cTrader, Databento, Stripe and other names and logos on this site are trademarks of their owners. They appear to state a fact, that the app connects to or works with them, and imply no endorsement, sponsorship or partnership. Your relationship with each platform is governed by that platform’s own terms.

16. Acceptable use

  • Do not break the law with it, or upload anything unlawful.
  • Do not use it to break a rule of a broker, prop firm, data vendor or other third party.
  • Do not probe, overload, scrape or interfere with the service or with other people’s accounts.
  • Do not reverse engineer the software or resell access to it.
  • Do not misuse the affiliate programme (section 11) or the support channel.

17. Not advice, ever

Nothing in the app, on this site, in an email from us or in support correspondence is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, a recommendation to take a trade, or a prediction. Statistics describe what already happened in the record you gave the app. Decisions you make, and their results, are yours. We owe you no fiduciary duty.

18. Availability and what we do not promise

The service is provided as it is and as available. We work to keep it up, accurate and safe, and we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error free, that synced or imported fills will always be complete or correct, that a third party platform will keep its API working, or that statistics computed from an imperfect record are themselves perfect. Anything the law implies that can be excluded is excluded.

19. Liability

  • Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
  • Subject to that, our total liability to you, however arising, is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
  • We are not liable for trading losses, lost profits, or losses flowing from decisions you took with the app’s output; for the acts, omissions or outages of platforms, brokers, data vendors or payment providers; or for events outside our reasonable control.
  • If you use the service as a consumer, nothing here takes away rights your consumer law gives you.

20. Indemnity

If your breach of these terms, your content, or your misuse of a third party platform through the app causes a claim against us from someone else, you will cover the losses and reasonable costs that claim causes us. This is the mirror of the promises above, not a trap: use the product as intended and this section never matters.

21. Suspension and ending the agreement

  • You can end it at any time by deleting your account from settings. Deletion is immediate and permanent; export first.
  • We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, abuses the service or creates legal risk, and where we do that we will say why unless telling you would itself cause a problem. If we close your account without a breach within 30 days of purchase, we refund you.
  • Sections that by their nature continue (ownership, liability, indemnity, governing law) survive the end of the agreement.

22. If the service ever winds down

If TradeLunar is discontinued, we will give at least 30 days’ notice by email and keep export available through that period, so your record leaves with you. A one time purchase years earlier does not oblige us to run the service forever, but it does oblige us to never strand your data.

23. General

  • These terms, the privacy policy, the risk disclosure and, for evaluation purchases, the published rulebook are the entire agreement between us about the service.
  • If a court finds part of these terms unenforceable, the rest stands.
  • Not enforcing a term once is not a waiver of it.
  • You may not assign this agreement. We may assign it to a company that takes over running TradeLunar, on the same terms, with notice to you.
  • Notices to you go to the email on your account. Notices to us go to support@tradelunar.io.

24. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have jurisdiction, without taking away protections the law of your home country guarantees you or your right to bring a claim there as a consumer.
