I place the same trade on five accounts by hand, and by the fifth one the price has already moved.
One order, every account
A copier sends one order to more than one account at once. TradeLunar's copier will send your order to every funded account you run, at a size you set for each one. It is not built yet. Nothing in TradeLunar today can reach an account or place an order, so everything below is what we are going to build.
What placing it by hand costs you
This is what happens when one trade has to be typed into five accounts, one at a time. At fifty accounts it stops being possible at all.
The price moves while you type
The first account gets the entry you wanted. The fifth gets whatever is left. One idea, five different trades, five different results.
One wrong size costs you an account
Your accounts are not the same size, and the most each one is allowed to lose is not the same either. Two contracts is a small risk on a big account and a big risk on a small one. The small one is the one that gets closed.
Your record counts one trade five times
Five copies of one decision is still one decision. Write it up five times and every average you work out later counts it five times too.
How it will work
None of this exists yet. It is written down now so you can hold the finished thing against it.
- You place the order onceYou trade the one account you actually watch. The copier will send that order to the others, so you never type the same trade twice.
- Each account gets its own sizeYou set the size for each account once, and the copier will use it. If an account is too small for the full size, it takes fewer contracts.
- It skips an account instead of breaking a ruleSome orders would push an account past its loss limit. The copier will leave that account out, and tell you it did. It will never send it anyway.
- One trade in your journal, not fiveThe whole group will be saved as the single decision it was, so your record says one trade and your averages are worked out from one.
Why it is not here yet
A copier places real orders in accounts you can lose. If the journal gets something wrong, you see a wrong number on a screen. If a copier gets something wrong, you lose an account. So it ships when it has been built and tested, and not before. When it lands it is covered by the same $49, with nothing extra to buy.
